Do herbal teas ever go bad? I have some that are a few years old...are they still safe/effective?

Once the herbs are dried, they can keep their properties for a couple of years, sometimes more, it depends of the herb!, you just need to keep the tea bags in a dry place with little or no light.
When the herbal tea comes in Air-tight bag with zip-lock, the tea lasts longer.
Generally you can find an expiration date in most of herbal tea boxes.
If you think that the tea is too old or just not right for consumption, you can use most of herbal teas for a bath! just drop as many bags as you want in the tub and let the water run, it is great for the skin and gives you a relaxing effect.
