Description
Multi-Enzyme Formula™ is Kirkman Laboratories moderate-potency, multi-spectrum digestive enzyme formulation designed to support digestion of the fullest range of foods. This formulation consists of a unique blend of 19 pure plant based enzymes recognized as important for the effective digestion of all food groups including proteins, carbohydrates, fats, sugars and fiber, under a wide range of pH conditions. The Multi-Enzyme Formula™ provides a comprehensive "foundation" of supplemental enzymes to support optimal digestion when there is a desire to start with a moderate potency formulation.
The Multi-Enzyme Formula™ includes a combination of proteases, amylases, lipases, disaccharides and cellulases to replace the enzymes lost in cooking and to lessen the burden on the body's digestive tract so that it can function optimally as well as support optimal nutrient absorption. Each enzyme works independently but also in a complementary role to optimally impact digestion of all dietary components
Recommended Usage:
RECOMMENDED DOSE
As a dietary supplement take two (2) capsules at the beginning of each meal. Start with ¼ to ½ capsule and gradually increase this does to the amount that provides optimal digestion of foods. See specific dosing schedule noted below.
The dose can be adjusted according to the specific needs of the individual. With larger meals additional enzymes may be utilized and with small meals or snacks smaller doses may be sufficient to provide adequate digestion of these foods. Avoid mixing with food or beverages that will be heated above 130° F, as the activity of the enzymes will be adversely affected.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
It is generally recommended that enzyme supplements be taken at the beginning or early on in the meal to assure appropriate digestion. The capsules may be swallowed whole or opened and mixed with a small amount of food or beverage.
Multi-Enzyme Formula may be taken in combination with some of the specialty enzymes (Peptidase Complete™, EnZymAid™ or DPP-IV Forte™) when there is a need to provide additional protein/peptide digestion with the consumption of higher quantities of casein, gluten and soybean.
SUGGESTED DOSING SCHEDULE
The dosing for Multi-Enzyme Formula is based on the amount of foods ingested and not directly on the size, weight or age of the individual. Doctor's and enzyme experts use significant variations in the dosing of enzymes. Kirkman's recommendation is to start with smaller amounts of enzymes and gradually increase to the amount that supports digestion. For general guidelines however a chart is provided as a starting point when using this enzyme formulation.
