Are there medical connections between osteoarthritis and use of cannabis?!

Question:

Are there medical connections between osteoarthritis and use of cannabis?

Answers:

Not official ones. you will hear that marijuana has a lot of medical actions and properties, (lessening nausea before and after chemotherapy, reducing pain in cancer, lowering ocular pressure to improve glaucoma).....however anecdotically, we all know, that smoking pot gives a very noticeable relief to ACUTE osteoarthritis...this has been a mistery (I mean, the form of action)....we only know its a fact, however, the dynamics of this phenomenon are as yet, still unclear...and it will be for some time, i am afraid...
Some patients, even get marijuana to elaborate "marijuana elixir", that is, marijuana leaves left for days inside of a jar with plain alcohol (Ethylic alcohol), rubbed on the skin of the painful joint....,,,it does not work as such,,(its a placebo)...
However, I strongly agree with you that, the main alkaloid of the marijuana (Delta 6 tetrahydrocannabinol) has some analgesic properties, that have not been explained...we still dont know whether it has some antiinflamatory properties, since I have not heard a serious evaluation of the compound..
It is not legal, because in the market, there are potent antiarthritic substances, that are by far more potent (diclophenac, corticoid compounds, indometacine etc,,,you name it)
