how exactly do depression(anti depressents) work?? and how do they make you feel? ive been going through severe derpession for about 8 months now but i am to embarressed to go the doctors and tell them. and i want to know how they work? i also got told you can get addicted to them how can that be iff their there to help i dont understand? i am 19.

Anti-depressants are not addictive. They work by "leveling out" (in different ways) certain neurotransmitters in your brain which are related to mood.
No need for embarassment. If you were diabetic, you would take insulin to level out your blood sugar. When you are depressed, you take anti-depressants to level out your seretonin/norepinephrine, etc.
