Pregnancy and Traditional Chinese Medicine -- How early can an acupuncturist detect conception using pulses?
I know there is a certain type of pulse in Traditional Chinese Medicine that can indicate pregnancy. How soon after conception is it possible for a LAc to read this type of pulse? How accurate is this? What other conditions could a "pregnancy pulse" be related to?
Answers:
My acupuncturist said within a week they can detect a change in body chemistry. This along with rapid changes in digestion, bowel activity and breast tenderness are a good indicator.
ALWAYS follow up with a pregnancy test though!
