Depression without medication?!

Question:

Depression without medication?

I had gotten into a car accident a little over 2 months ago, leaving me disabled. I am left in my house all day, my boyfriend just got a full time job and doesn't have sex with me because he's too tired and "doesn't want to hurt" my leg. I just started physical therapy to get me walking again and i haven't been in my cast since I started. My boyfriend tells me i'm not depressed and it's just "stir-crazy" What am i supposed to do i can't stand feeling like this, i just feel so lonely and i can't even go take walks or even drive. I eat right and do my therapy lessons everyday and can barly sleep at night, i just don't want to feel like this anymore, everytime i talked to my boyfriend about it he tells me i'm not depressed and doesn't listen to me. I've been going out with him for over 4 years and i know he loves me and means well and doesn't want to see me on medication but what am i supposed to do i hate feeling this way

Answers:

You should see a doctor or psychiatrist or therapist so they can correctly diagnose you. I didnt think I had depression but when I saw my doctor I found out I did have major depression. Im on meds now and they really work, and I dont feel like im addicted which is usually a main concern for people. You should really do whats in your best interest and your boyfriend shoudl support you in your decision
