What causes headaches at the end of my period?!

Question:

What causes headaches at the end of my period?

This is something I've been dealing with for the past few years. Sometimes headaches come in at the beginning of my period but most usual towards the end. I am 43 years old and have a history of migraines. I am tired of taking migraine meds (prescribed) and whenever I mention to my Dr. that they usually come during that time, she kind of blows it off and prescribes more meds. I am almost sure this is a hormonal issue but I don't know how to go about it. Any suggestions?

Answers:

The headache is probably being triggered by some mineral deficiency that's been aggravated by the loss of blood.
One common mineral deficiency is magnesium and that has been known to cause migraines (as well as many other symptoms).

Another effective treatment is Feverfew, an herb. You have to take it regulary for 3 months but then you can drop it completely. It prevents rather than treats an already in progress migraine.
Those are no fun. Whatever you try - best of luck.
