Natural treatment for hyperthyroid?!

Question:

Natural treatment for hyperthyroid?

My body normally doesn't react well to meds & they always cause some sort of a reaction. I'm supersensitive even to things like decongestants & antibiotics. Finally a potential diagnosis to my crazy symptoms I've suffered from for so long, the last thing I want to do is go through any more med roller coasters. So, please! Any help you can provide would be wonderful.

The supplements listed here may be beneficial for those with thyroid disorders, including people already taking conventional drugs. But always check with your doctor first, because some of these nutrients may alter your prescription drug dose. It may take a month or so to notice benefits.

Gluten-free Diet - Some doctors recommend the complete avoidance of gluten/gliadin and dairy products when this allergy is suspected.

Dairy Products Avoidance - One doctor reports that taking calcium without magnesium is one of the worst things you can do if you have hyperthyroidism because this increases any magnesium deficiency and increases the heart rate and likelihood of arrhythmia. This is one of the reasons why dairy products, which are high in calcium and low in magnesium, need to be restricted until magnesium levels are replenished.

Selenium supplementation with 200mcg of sodium selenite may improve the inflammatory activity seen in patients .

If you have an overactive thyroid, eat plenty of raw cruciferous vegetables, such as broccoli, cauliflower, brussels sprouts, kale, cabbage, and collard greens, which contain a natural thyroid blocker. Avoid iodized salt and iodine-containing foods, including saltwater fish and shellfish.

Vitamin C: 1,000 mg a day.

Vitamin B Complex: 1 pill each morning - 50 mg/day.

Vitamin E: 200-400 IU/day. Do not exceed the dosages, as vitamin E may stimulate the thyroid gland.

Flaxseed oil: 1-2 tablespoons/day.

Mild relaxing teas: chamomile and melissa may be helpful.
