What happens if I overdose on zinc?!

Question:

What happens if I overdose on zinc?

The recommended US daily value is 11 mg, but I will soon be taking 15 mg zinc tablets (+plus however much I get in my diet) to help with a problem of mine.

Answers:

Too much Zinc is 150mg/day. At that point you would have problems with low copper levels, altered iron, lowered immune system, reduced level of HDL (good cholesterol). Ingestion of zinc supplements exceeding 15 mg/day is not recommended without adequate medical supervision. So just be careful with taking the right amount of pills and stay under supervision with your doctor.
