FOR DOCS...Brain development in the first 5 years of life???!

Question:

FOR DOCS...Brain development in the first 5 years of life???

My 3 year old son has been diagnosed with Sensory Integration Dysfunction and we spoke to his pediatrician about the possibility of ADHD and were given meds to try (I didn't like what I saw with him on the meds).

My question is: Since the brain is still developing at the age of 3 and he clearly has some imbalances...can testing for vitamin and mineral deficiencies and toxins and introducing supplements correct the imbalances or is his brain chemistry already wired for the rest of his life?

Answers:

I wish you the best of luck with your son. I agree that he is =very= young and still so malleable to go on such powerful drugs. There are some therapies -- Sensory Integration Therapists, namely -- for children with autism that might be useful in your case. They are =very= time consuming and it may be expensive to find someone to work with him the hours needed, but it could be worth it. Or finding out how to work with him yourself after a few sessions could be helpful as he'd likely respond better to those who are familiar to him.
