Could this be why i get so depressed?!


Question:

Could this be why i get so depressed?

for some reason...i'll be like happy, one second, then the next horribly depressed---could it be a vitamin defficency? if so what could i be defeciant of ? some of it could be that i am still a teen, and the hormones swinging to and fro....got any ideas (by the way im 16)

First of all you need to check your diet. Your daily diet affects your brain tremendously . Junk food causes depression, so stay away from it. Eat raw fruits and vegetables, soy products, brown rice. Diets that are low in carbohydrates may lower the serotonin(this is a chemical produced in the brain that makes you feel happy).
Supplements that you can take:
L- Tyrosine (about 50mg for each pound that you weigh )this amino acid increases the production of dopamine.
Zinc 50mg a day. Buy the lozenges for better absorption.
B-complex 100mg 3 times a day. helps with the nervous system, stress, depression.
Essential fatty acids (currant oil, primrose oil are good sources) take with food. Good for your neurotransmitters.
Multivitamin and mineral formula (Natural formula not centrum)
You need it for general balance in your body.
You also need to keep yourself busy. Find a sport , Hobie or part time job that you enjoy.
