What's your favorite tea when you are sick with a cold?!
Question:
What's your favorite tea when you are sick with a cold?
Answers:
I work in the Coffee and Tea Industry. What I recommend for a cold is what is commonly referred to as a Medicine Pack. It's one part Ginseng Peppermint Tea, one part Lemon Chamomile Tea. In my experience, several first-hand accounts have proved it's ability to respond to colds. Other than that combination, or any other herbal-type teas, I would recommend a green tea. The compounds in various green teas have been found to possess several healing properties. The nice thing about a true herbal tea, is that is contains no caffeine, which is an intake you should limit when sick. Contrary to common belief, green tea does have more caffeine than black tea, but the tannic acid compounds essentially time-release the caffeine into the body. This makes the effect on the body more subtle and smoother, as opposed to black teas (i.e. Earl Grey). The caffeine in black teas enter the bloodstream right away, much like drinking coffee or soda.
