Question about injections?!

Question:

Question about injections?

can anyone please tell me do nurses ever start to give an injection of depo provera but it doesn't work (medication doesn't come out only a little tinny bit ) pull the needle back out say the tip must not be sharp enough break or cut the tip of the needl off with some thing re: insert the the needle and finish the depo provera injection thank you for your time and consideration have a good day

Answers:

Yikes. It doesn't sound normal from here. If the needle was dull or was not functioning, the nurse could unscrew it and replace it with a new one, not cut it or break the tip. It would make sense to finish the injection with a new needle if the original needle was withdrawn from the arm. Once in a great while there are defective needles. The other option would be to see how much of the hormone, if any, had actually been injected so far, draw up the remaining needed amount in a new syringe with a new needle and continue from there. What you are describing would be very odd and unacceptable behavior.
