Can you take Glycolax and Metamucil together?!

Can you take Glycolax and Metamucil together?
Glycolax does not work "completely". Drinking ALOT of water and I usually get 18 grams of fiber per day. I just thought the Metamucal will help me get the extra fiber I need. Neither one of them work well on their own. I thought I would combine the two. Any ideas. About to run out of them. Already been to the Dr.
