Dong Quai, can you please tell me?!

Question:

Dong Quai, can you please tell me?

Is it meant to help strengthen one's menstrual cycle?

Answers:

By strengthen, I presume you mean regulate it. It is reputed help regulate hormones that are associated with the menstrual cycle and in so doing help alleviate PMS/some peri-menopausal symptoms. But it is mostly taken by those women in peri-menopause rather than younger ladies. This might be because it has more of a reputation for alleviating some of the associated symptoms of peri-menopause rather than PMS. A more widely known one for hormone regulation in younger ladies is agnus castus (chaste berry).

Edited in view of the answer above :)
Added: Yes you have to believe something will work in order to see results - half of any medication working, and yes that goes for conventional pharmaceutical medicine too, is belief. This explains the placebo effect and why every clinical trial has to involve placebos. But herbals do work hence why pharmaceutical companies base many of their drugs on herbal constituents and hence why they go around the world grabbing herbal wisdom from indigenous peoples. But the beauty about herbals is that they are evenly balanced so you don't get any of the nasty side effects that are often associated with 'conventional' drugs.
