I've been seeing a chinese doctor for kidney and cystitis problems having tried everything else. I have accupuncture and herbal tablets. All is going well and i feel so much better! However, i always have this nagging thought in my head that she's ripping me off when it comes to the medicines since i always end up leaving with 4 or 5 different types to take costing about £30..... Today i "googled" the medicines to find out what they were for and found out that 2 of them have nothing to with my condition - one is prescribed by the manufacturers for prostate problems (i'm a girl so that definitely aint applicable!!) and the other is for angina and other heart stuff (i'm all good with my heart!). so i wondered, can chinese medicines be prescribed for the purpose they are not intended for? Do you think she's just conning me for more money? the accupuncture is def working and i do like the doctor so im reluctant to leave her, but i'm just not sure about the meds! Can anyone help?Thanks

my accupuncturist is regulated, i saw her certificates. Im just concerned about taking medicine for a prostate i dont have and heart condition i dont have!!! maybe there's a menthod to the madness that someone could explain to me?

She isn't conning you, she may have detected more problems than the obvious kidney condition and is treating you for them as well.

My acupuncturist treats my digestive system mostly, where the obvious problem is. She also found I have liver damage, and detected my pre-diabetes before my doctor did, and treats me for those as well.

I have a different formula every time I go to her, since she treats what needs the most attention at that moment.

It's complicated, but everything is tied together in the body. If one organ isn't functioning properly, the whole system gets thrown off.
