the light might draw the mosquitos away if it is far enough away from you when you're sleeping. However, they are drawn to your scent so they'll gladly have a bite to eat regardless of whether there is a light or not. A light may even make the problem worse.
I would suggest investing in a mosquito net. They are inexpensive, and you can get them at outdoor stores or on the internet. Then you can sleep with peace of mind with or without a light.
