Is it safe to take 2 doses of Unisom Maximum Strength?!

Is it safe to take 2 doses of Unisom Maximum Strength?
I was curious to know if anyone knew it was safe to take 2 doses of Unisom Maximum Strength, which would be 100 mg ( 1 dose is 50 mg). I have a friend who has done that a few times without problem, but not sure how safe it is. I know that it is Diphenhydramine, and with that drug you are not to exceed 300 mg within a 24 hour period. Not sure if it's the same in Unisom form.

probably, every now and then, but your friend should look more closely into what it making him/her have difficulty sleeping. Also, there are some great, mild herbal remedies for sleep (valerian, scullcap, hops, etc.). Tell them to lay off the caffeine and power drinks, exercise more early in the day (less at night), stop eating large meals (esp. high protein meals) in the evening, reduce stress, remove any/all TV's from the bedroom, and keep the bed/bedroom as a sanctuary for rest.
