Should I flex the muscle in my leg when I inject myself with Avonex?

Should I be flexing the muscle in my leg when I inject myself with Avonex im????

Or have it relaxed?

The home-care nurse who came by to teach me said to flex it but the video you get with the medication says to relax it.

Anyone have any experience with this? Tonight is my 4th shot. My husband has done them for me each time but I will do my own tonight for the first time.

in general it is better to relax your muscle when getting a shot. there is less resistance and thus less pain due to the needle... it won't significantly change the effect of the drug either way, just the comfort level.
