Hi there,
For me I use Valerian Root and/or Passion Flower. Both are very common herbs. Valerian is a muslce relaxant and if taken before bed time, it can help you drift off to sleep. Passion Flower is used for anxiety, tension headaches and it is a mild herbal tranqualizer. Often, if I feel I need the help I will combine the two which is perfectly safe.
Some people like to use Melatonin. I've never been a big fan of it. For me, it would put me to sleep but I'd wake up in the middle of the night; valerian and passion flower have never done that to me. Also, some friends of mine who use to use Melatonin found that in the mornings they felt more groggy and "fuzzy" as if the effects had not totally worn off.
