Anyone know why I am suddely REALLY craving garlic?!
Question:
Anyone know why I am suddely REALLY craving garlic?
No jokes about wanting bad breath or to ward off vampires. Does it indicate my body's need for a specific herb, vitamin or possibly an attempt to naturally fight off a disease. Seriously, sometimes garlic is all I can think about and all of the food I cook revolves around it SUDDENLY.
Answers:
It's often said that many cravings we feel are the body's way of telling us it's in need of a particular substance. When I crave ice cream, I need calcium. When I crave steak, I need iron (and you know things are bad when I crave steak, because I don't particularly care for steak) So if you're craving garlic, and garlic has SO many healthful benefits that I couldn't begin to count them, you may be needing one of the vitamins, nutrients, minerals, or other substances in garlic. Or your body may be telling you it's getting sick...garlic is a great antibiotic, anti-cholesterol, anti-viral, anti-almost-anything. Be careful when cooking garlic, high heat destroys the good stuff in it, rendering it ineffective, though still tasty
