Blood pressure medicine problems?
I take clonidine for blood pressure. The problem is that it's making me extremely tired. Any ideas on how to compensate for this side effect? It's making it hard to stay awake at work. I also get dry mouth but I can deal with that better then this fatigue. Any ideas? BTW. My job is a sitdown job but I do excercise at least three times a week at the gym.

Unfortunately these are just side effects of the drug. This drug suppresses your sympathetic nervous system, which is responsible for your "alertness." But I would like to say, as a patient, you can be proactive in your care. All drugs are going to have some side effects, but if you cant handle these, you should consult your doctor b/c there are 50+ hypertension meds out there. Im sure you can find something to suit your needs. You will however have to be tapered off of clonidine.
