In misery!! Help!!?

I'm VERY uncomfortable right now, but, not having health insurance, I cannot justify going to the doctors, as it isn't a serious condition that will probably go away on it's own. But if anyone knows any natural remedies.... HELP!!

I caught a slight cold or something the other day. Two days ago I could have SWORN I had a fever. Anyway, I'm feeling great accept my throat. It's NOT your typical "raw inside" sore throat. IT feels like my lymph nodes on each side are SUPEr swollen and painful. It's almost uncomfortable to talk. Anyone have any natural remedies to help with cold-related swollen lymph nodes? I'd feel fine if it weren't for that.

The only things I took for my cold are as follows

NyQuill
Tylenol cold nighttime
Emergen-C (an effervecent powder that you add to water that simply gives you a 1000 mg shot of Vitamin C)

In case I wasn't very clear,

It feels like my lymph nodes or some glands next to my throat are super swollen and pressing against my throat. I feel the pain all over my neck, but it's definitely centered in near the back of the jaw next to my throat. I do not have a typical "sore throat" at all. It's just VERY "Tight" feeling glands.

CUte!! Tonsilitis. Had to laugh at that! I had HORRIBLE tonsilitis as a small child. That's why they were removed when I was 7 ;)

Course.... someone I knew had his tonsils removed TWICE.. cuz they grew back.. :S

Thanks everyone!! You gave me good advice. Today is another day, and I'm feeling MUCH better. Swelling is down!!

I had a similar problem at one point. I went to the store and bought some golden seal-- they came in little plastic-like capsules. I mixed two of those pills with a small amount of water and tried to drink it... it instantly made me throw up.

Now, I know that sounds horrible, but the stuff doesn't really need to stay in your system to work. It cured me of a sore throat in one treatment, in less than a day. It's hard stuff to swallow... it may make you want to puke before you even swallow it, but try your damnedest to get it down.

If you're not willing to try that, then go to the store (Wal-Mart, for instance) and but some Echinacea - Golden Seal Complex capsules and take them as directed. Taking the Golden Seal this way makes it much easier to take and it won't make you sick, but for some reason, it takes longer to work.
