My father had his rectum removed last week - not reversible, the surgeon tells me.?

The diagnosis was rectal cancer. He now has a colostomy bag. I'm 100% into natural health. What is the best that can happen for him, now, in terms of his building and maintaining optimum health for himself through natural ways? Really no chance of reversing this? What can he do?
