Question:

I am menopausal and have a constant internal vaginal burning sensation, Help please?

I am told that lack of oestogen is the problem have had 3 estring fitted over a 36 weeks which has helped a huge amount but have been told cannot have any more due to side effects. Do you have any alternative advice to help me,

Answers:

i'm in my mid fifties; had the same problem, but not suitable for HRT as I had cancer years ago; did a bit of reading and research and experimentation.

There is a product called "Replens"which comes in capsule form, and which you insert like a tampon every three days, which restores the natural moisture missing from your vagina. It makes a difference immediately; however, you may not like the "damp" feeling that you get in the first few hours after insertion.

You might also like to try pure vitamin E oil; take capsules as a supplement, and try and source the oil itself as a vaginal lubricant.

To be honest, I feel that progesterone is often the missing hormone; I can personally recommend a book by Dr. John R. Lee "Waht your doctor may not tell you about menopause". Even if you just read it without acting on it, you might find it helpful.
