Frova, ativan, cymbolta together?!

Question:

Frova, ativan, cymbolta together?

my mother had taken all of these drugs and they were prescribed by many other doctors. they dont seem to be mixing well at all. she has half of all the side effects of cymbolta. and the other two drugs arent cooperating well with the others. is it safe to use all 3 together? we have been to the emergency room, and they acted like they dont care. we r about to leave and go back. so can these meds safely be taken together?

Answers:

She shouldn't be taking any anti-migraine medication with Cymbalta, including Frova, Imitrex or Zomig. The interaction can cause serotonin syndrome, which includes such symptoms as: confusion, hallucinations, a fast heartbeat, feeling faint, fever, sweating, muscle spasms, difficulty walking, and diarrhea.

It's usually not recommended to take aspirin - based pain relievers with Cymbalta either. Also, with Ativan, one shouldn't take other depressant medications such as antihistamines, anti-depressants, or alcohol. The interaction with Cymbalta and Ativan are less severe than that of Frova and Cymbalta. This combination will make her more sleepy, lower blood pressure, and lower breathing rate and heartbeat.

My suggestion is to cease the use of Frova immediately and call your doctor asap. This can be prevented in the future by giving each doctor she sees a detailed list of every medication she has taken in the last 30 days. Also, ask questions! If they aren't answering to your satisfaction, seek another doctor who will. She only has one body.
