Question:
I'm thinkng about taking a supplement that contains MAO inhibitor?
I was wondering whether it would be safe to drink socailly while taking the supplement ...I hear there are a few foods such as fish and banans..Do you know anything about this?
Answers:
"people using MAO-inhibitors must avoid foods that are high in tyramine, such as alcohol, legumes (e.g., fava and soy beans), cheese, fish, ginseng, meat, sauerkraut, shrimp paste, soups, and yeast extracts (baking yeast is OK in small quantities)."
So the answer is NO!!!! No drinking, not socially, not at all.
I would seriously reconsider even using such a supplement. MAO inhibitors are not some to mess around with without medical supervision.
