I trained on a yoga course a few years back and took two years although I think you can do it one year. They are called Fryog ( Friends of yoga) google them, I can't remember their website.
I never took the final exam as my mum got sick but I am due to start another one which is a year or two I think : website is :http://www.thelifecentre.com.(... lovely!)
Most of them seem to be about 2 years if you have had no training as a teacher b4. Y
ou can try the British wheel of yoga as well. They may have short courses.
There are prob a few that are under a year but I wouldn't recommend it. It takes a lot of time even if your advanced in your own practice.
My own yoga teacher has been learning for years and years as you can learn many ways and many different things/methods etc.
Give the Life centre a try anyway as they sound nice!. Good luck! :-) Namaste xx
P.s you can try all those so called training courses and websites, but they give a bad name to us real yoga teachers when some students complain of injury through untrained so called trained "Yoga teachers" who have done a 6 week course in nothing. Sorry to be firm ! :-(
it's just I have been to so many crooked yoga teachers as well as hearing stories from my own trained yoga teachers. lol Just be careful how much you pay up for these quickie courses and online.do it home things :-) Ok?

PPS Certification IS NEEDED if you want to say teach in a sports centre or adult college. It may come in handy when some1 tries to sue you.
You should also get private insurance which will cover you teaching at home.
