This is not what I call medicine,but since I was a boy ,and it was more then 70 years ago my mother put us to bed for rest, which was "murder" for a young boy, but then I had to drink incredible amount of boiled water.I was off the food. The only thing I could eat was fruit,mostly apples. It took three days and I was good as gold.
Now that I am married and live in Australia, my wife uses hot water lemon and honey as a drink. Also drink as much as you can, and believe me it goes away within day or two.
It is not medicine, it is a method of strengthening of you immune system and getting rid of all the nasties from your system.The only defence you have against any sickness is your immune system, do not compromise it by taking medicine which will work against it.
Check all medicine and ask doctor a question " How will it effect my immune system?" If side effects are such that it is worst then your cold forget it go home and drink water lemon and honey!
