Tell me about acid? lsd?!

Question:

Tell me about acid? lsd?

what do I need to know especially if im going to plan on taking it

Answers:

Okay, here's to all you people who keep saying "don't do it", "it's bad", and "it will mess you up for life": Take it somewhere else. People are going to use psychoactive substances whether society likes it or not. It IS better that they be informed for use, rather than have a mishap and be messed up for longer than the duration of the drug itself.

Lysergic acid diethylamide. LSD. Probably one of the most powerful and most important psychoactive drugs on the planet. LSD is so powerful, it is one of the only drugs whose dosage is measured in micrograms.

--I am going to answer your question assuming that you have decided to try the drug, and tell you the things you may want to know--

First off, the average dose of acid is approximately 300 micrograms. The problem these days is that you aren't going to know how many mics are in each hit because it comes in all varieties. Typically, you can assume that one hit will be between 100 and 200 micrograms. Although sometimes, it is weaker and does not even contain 100 mics. In this day and age, your problem is not going to be finding acid that is too strong, but rather bunk hits that don't contain enough.

Now I will introduce to you some refutations:

1) "Well you can screw up your brain from taking it."
My answer: This is a wonderful anti-drug/elementary D.A.R.E. promo statements. However, it is very non-specific. There has been ONE reported death as a result of overdose on lysergic acid diethylamide. It was a man who accidentally dosed 320,000 mics. THREE HUNDRED TWENTY-THOUSAND MICROGRAMS. A man has survived a 40,000+ mic dose before. As far as "screwing up your brain", that is a very RELATIVE statement. Of course things like that are going to be said about acid. I mean, what else would the anti-drug advocates say? It is GOOD for your brain! No... I don't think so. Did you know that in the 60's it was HANDED OUT for free (for medical research purposes) at labs at some of the major universities around the U.S.?

2) "Bad trips."
My answer: It's all in your mind. I will tell you this, and it may sound crazy, but some of the most pivotal moments of psychological maturity I have EVER experienced were getting through difficult experiences during an acid trip - and I am a second-year med student right now. Bad trips are nothing more than over-emphasis/exertion of emotions stimulated by seemingly "unmanageable" circumstances during the effects. This is EASILY prevented. First, get your mind in the right setting before you dose. Open your mind, and accept the fact that you are opening doors that may contain challenges - and be READY for them. Second, make sure you are in an appropriate setting. Don't dose at school or in very public areas. It also helps to look at the fact that you aren't "getting high" - you are attempting to gain insight into yourself and a new perspective on life in general.

3) "Bad acid."
My answer: Yes, this is a possibility. Incorrectly synthesized lysergic acid can cause a wide range of highly neurotoxic chemical yields. But, as with other things, there are ALWAYS going to be risks involved. Follow this rule and you should be fine: Don't get acid from people you don't know. Its that simple. Don't worry too much about bad acid - worry more about getting ripped off with extremely weak or nonreactive hits.

Basically, what many fail to realize is that acid is much more than an "illegal drug". It is a tool - available to those who use it as such. You would not use a screwdriver to put a nail into a board. LSD can be a window to seeing life from a different perspective, or it can be abused and lead to possible damage. Ask yourself why you want to use it.

Anyways...

You will most likely get it on blotter paper that has an artistic design on it. If your friend is tripping with you and has experience, ask him how many he is taking and decide from there. If he knows it is acid of some substance, take about half of what he does.

Keep asking these questions, mate - there's absolutely NOTHING wrong with it. Don't let anyone else convince you otherwise. It is better to be informed than to be uninformed. And even worse - misinformed.

I hope this helps you.

~EDIT: Notice the tool who posted below me saying they know people who have died playing around with it? Yeah, misinformation RIGHT THERE.~
