Lavender sleep?!

Question:

Lavender sleep?

Hi! I have a good bunch of big lavender plants at home and was wondering if any one could tell me how I could make and use the exstracted oils for sleeping. Any and all information is much aprecaited. Thank you.

Answers:

You can buy lavendar essential oil cheaply from many stores - health food, chemists and some hardware stores. It takes an awful lot of lavendar to make even a small amount of essential oil.

Plus if you do cut lavendar from the plant and hang this for any length of time then most of the essential oils will evaporate as they are very volatile.

What you could do with them is make lavendar bags using some thin linen or cotton or mesh material and use these in your drawers and wardrobe (closet) to make clothes smell nice, and under your pillow to aid restful sleep. Or just put in an old pillow case and hang amongst the clothes in the wardrobe (closet).
