Yep. I'm a qualified aromatherapist and as well as the clients ive had, a very close friend of mine suffered severe brain damage and had no sense of smell at all. He had quite bad insomnia but the combinations of oil i used on the skin through massage knocked him out like a light.
Although smell is an important part of aromatherapy, the molecules are small enough to enter the body through the pores and effect the various organs that way.
