Question:

Does anyone else know of the info that talks about the poisonousness of table salt versus natural sea salt?

Answers:

Common table salt is purified and refined leaving only sodium and chloride. This refining process includes washing or boiling the salt, adding many strong chemicals, extreme heat and much more. After the refining process this salt is then mixed with iodine, bleaching agents and anti-caking agents to create the purely white free flowing product found in one's local food store. When processed salt is made, the factories use cementlined beds, efflorescence from this cement pollutes the processed salt.

Common salt goes though such heavy processing, that it turns into a devitalized deleterious and potentially toxic substance. The term "sea salt" has lost its meaning. All salt on this planet originally came from the sea. More than three quarters of this salt though has not seen the sea for billions of years! Almost all salts found in the health food store which boast being a "sea salt" are not what they seem to be. These health food store bought sea salts are actually very similar to refined salt. Don't let the word "sea salt" fool you into thinking it is better than other processed salts.

The salt that most N.D.'s, naturopaths, and naturalists will recommend is Celtic Sea Salt. Celtic Sea Salt is harvested near the coast of Northwestern France. Ocean water, rich in a wide variety of minerals, is channeled into a series of clay-lined ponds. The wind and sun evaporate the ocean water, leaving a mineral-rich brine. This live mixture is briskly stimulated by the salt farmer, and dazzling salt crystals form. The Celtic Sea Salt is then gathered by hand using wooden tools. This harvesting method preserves the vital balance of the minerals found in the salt.

The method used for gathering these nutritional salts follows a 2,000 year-old Celtic tradition and is supported by modern quality control standards. The French Government prides itself in this unique resource and has preserved thousands of acres of pristine wild marsh, as a "National Treasure" and "Protected Site" so that these areas will continue to produce Celtic Sea Salts for centuries more. In 1991, the French Ministry of Forests and Agriculture gave its most honorable "Superior Quality Food" mention to Celtic Sea Salt.

Hope this helps you! :)
