Wild yams do contain the chemical "backbone" for the synthesis of hormones including progesterones. This does not mean that by eating them they are going to do wonderful things like dissolve cysts. In fact cysts do not dissolve, or affect fertility. You can try them but don't go getting your hopes up or be too dissapointed when it does nothing.
