Answers:

The only chemical that produces the effects of THC is, of course, THC. The intoxicating effect is completely unique to marijuana, as is the case with the side-effects of any other intoxicant.

You can buy all the legal smoke on the market, and you won't come close to a THC high. Most of them taste foul, and may make you drowsy... at best.

Someone mentioned Jimson Weed, or Datura. Speaking from past experience, I would recommend that you stay away from this plant. The plant itself is completely legal, and grows wild all throughout North America. Depending on your body weight, certain amounts can be ingested to produce a mild-severe hallucinogenic effect...BUT...appropriate doses haven't been verified through any research studies, and accidental overdose is VERY common.

...here's a true story about some kid who tried it, and shouldn't have: A 14-year-old boy came across the effects of Datura while studying something botany related on the internet. He thought it would be a trip (literally) and so found the plant, which was practically growing in his back yard. Long story short; the kid did start to hallucinate, but there was nobody around to keep an eye on him to prevent him from doing something stupid. He began tripping hardcore, and went outside into a thunderstorm. He was found hours later, face down in a 3" puddle of water, just down the road from his house. He probably thought he was a fish & needed to breathe water... before he "suffocated." I've found several other similar cases, where some dumb kid died because he did something really stupid. Like many other drugs, your ability to reason could be severely impaired.

I tried it, and it did nothing but blur my vision for a few days. No extra-sensory effects, no "profound" epiphanies, just a dull buzz followed by the aforementioned blurred vision. But, my wife also tried it, and she vividly remembers having a conversation with a penguin in our living room. As ridiculous as this sounds, I swear to God that it's true. Case in point; it affects everybody differently...and you're not going to know what your experience will be like until you do it.

Be careful if you're going to experiment with "legal" highs. Many/most are just as dangerous as illegal drugs, in terms of damage to your health, but none of them will bring you close to a genuine THC buzz.

Remember:

"In order to become old & wise, you must first be young and stupid."
