Are there any good OTC sleep aids out there?!

Question:

Are there any good OTC sleep aids out there?

I work third shift and sometimes find it hard to stay asleep for more than 4 hours during the day. This usually happens if my schedule is interupted by a week long vacation. It is hard to get back into the schedule. So, I would like an over the counter sleep aid to help me until my sleep patterns return to normal(for me). Any suggestions?

Answers:

There is an excellent product called Deep Sleep, made by Herbs, Etc. in Santa Fe. It contains California Poppy, Valerian, Passionflower, Chamomile, Lemon Balm and Oat seed. It helps all sorts of insomnia, with absolutely no hangover, druggy feeling.

I find that this synergestic blend of herbs works better than any individual herb alone. I recommend the drops over the gelcaps. I've been selling this product for almost 10 years now, with great feedback.

See the link below for more info on it. If you don't want to purchase online and can't find it at your health food store, buy California Poppy and Valerian in liquid extract and take them together, cutting the recommended dose in half for each of them.

Also, try reading by a small light in a dark room for an hour before falling asleep, to boost melatonin production. Avoid stimulating scents like lemon, peppermint, ginger in your bath products. Use a lavender or chamomile essential oil in your room. Stop the use of caffeine 3 to 5 hours before sleep time.
