I'm on synthroid and I've lost my appetite?!

Question:

I'm on synthroid and I've lost my appetite?

My dose is just right, my levels are supressed almost to none existent, I feel great in the day. better than ever, but my appetite is so weak I get disgusted and irritated with my food.
What could be happening, and how can I treat it --I prefer HERBAL appetite remedies if they exist... :)

Answers:

When your thyroid is underaction, your system has to over matabolize to try to bring things back to normal, which causes you to feel hungrier. Now that your levels are normal, you no longer feel that same sense of hunger and appetite. It likely your bodies way of telling you to cut back from the way you were eating when you were out of balance. I have dealt with thyroid issues my entire life, since the age of 16 (now 43) and have found that whenever my appetitie picks up, I know my thyroid is out of whack. You can fix the problem by switching from synthroid (synthetic) to Armour (natural) thyroid medicine. Its the only med that ever made any difference for me. Now, my appetite is pretty normal. I try to eat small, frequent meals, as opposed to three big ones. Good luck!
