Any fast-working/overnight fever remedies...?!

Question:

Any fast-working/overnight fever remedies...?

I've had a 102 fever for over 24 hours, accompanied with alternating sweats and chills, a sore throat, "harsh"/violent coughs, and a stomachache (but no nausea).

It's been bad enough that I've had to skip school today, and as I'm already behind with schoolwork, I really need to get better as soon as possible. I've already had chicken soup, honey, orange juice & water, a lot of Vitamin C, Tylenol, and have taken Amoxicillin for the bacteria... but none of these seem to be working well; the fever persists at a stable temperature.

At this point in time, I can't schedule any appointment with my doctor, and I'd really like to see if there's any way I can get better by tomorrow, and not just let the sickness run its course, since I have several classes I absolutely cannot miss. I've tried sweating the fever out, too... does anyone have any suggestions?

Answers:

a trick they use in the ER for toddlers with high fever:
alternate doses of tylenol (acetaminophen) and motrin (ibuprophen). so if you take your tylenol, wait four hours and take your motrin. then 4 hours from your motrin dose, take another dose of tylenol. 4 hours after taking your tylenol, take another doseof motrin. it should force your fever to break. im not saying breaking your fever is the best thing to do, in fever your body is trying to defend and repair itself, but thats the technique.
