I was on the depro vera shot for three year is this bad?

I think this made me gain more weight and i kept gaining so i am currently not on the shot. Is their a birth control that doesnt make you gain weight

In my opinion, I think that the depro vera or any form of horomone birth control is very, very bad. It's synthetic and very unnatural. You can experience many symptoms from taking these horomones. I know that gaining weight with "the shot" is very common. Other side effects include blood clots, strokes, heart attacks, and even death. If you're a smoker don't ever take any form of horomones as this increases your chances of the above happening. Personally I'm not one for any form of artificial birth control, so my advice would be to use Natural Family Planning. Track you cycle and figure out exactly when you ovulate and abstain from sex during this time. Good luck in whatever you choose.
