Will takeing a 500mg garlic supplement (Allium Sativum) ward off some mosquitoes!

Question:

Will takeing a 500mg garlic supplement (Allium Sativum) ward off some mosquitoes or other bugs?

Will this have any effect of warding off ticks and or other insects that feed off human blood or have I just watched too much movies from the 80's?

Answers:

I recently read an article that bacteria, other "living organisms" ,that are ever present--in millions & trillions-- reside & feed all over the human body; some are beneficial, some unharmful, some w/yet-unknown effects to the body.

Garlic supplements are taken orally, while mosquitoes are outside your body, so they are not correlated. Citronella sprays would be a natural way to repel mosquitoes & bugs. There is also a Brazilian tree/bark(search for this) that is now used as an insect repellant commercially. Other herbs also exhibit the same repellant properties.
