Why does taking Tyrosine in the morning make my fatigue go away??!
Question:
Why does taking Tyrosine in the morning make my fatigue go away??
I know that Thyroid medication includes Tyrosine in it, and when I take Tyrosine, my fatigue is gone...but I have had my TSH, T3 and T4 checked and they all seem normal. Here are the results:
TSH= 1.65
Free T3= 3.23
Free T4= 1.45
Now, does Tyrosine also help with Adrenal gland deficency? I know a couple of years ago, a doctor measured my Cortisol and it was low(it was 4.9 and normal range should be 5-21 in the morning) but when he prescribed cortisol, it made me feel worst, so I stopped going to him and stopped the medication....... does Tyrosine help with Adrenal glands too??? or just THyroids??
I just can't figure out why Tyrosine is making my fatigue go away...off course, in the afternoons it gives me a bad headache
Answers:
Hi jumpinjack. Tyrosine is the amino acid precursor for the synthesis of dopamine, epinephrine (adrenalin) and nor-epinephrine (noradrenalin). So you may be getting increased levels of these 'monoamines', which may account for your improved energy levels.
A variety of micronutrients are also involved directly or indirectly in the above biochemical pathway. These nutrients include: vitamin C, Folate (and other B-vitamins indirectly involved in a process called methylation), Vitamin B6, Copper and Iron. So, it may also help you to take a high quality multi-vitamin/mineral supplement (not the junk ones like Centrum and One-A-Day).
Best wishes.
