Alternative to live yoghurt?!
Question:
Alternative to live yoghurt?
If I want to get all the healthy bacteria of live yoghurt, but dont want to have any dairy, live bacteria supplements or soya/vegetarian 'yoghurt' style foods that have had the bacteria artificially added is there an alternative?
I know prebiotics will encourage the formation of but is there an actual natural food that contains it in the same way as a live yoghurt?
Answers:
I found these articles from a site i find has really good info on diet, nutrition, natural remdies etc.
I think it might answer your question somewhat.
I read somewhere recently about non-dairy foods that contained probitics but can't remember where!! but I was rather surprised but if I find the article again I'll let you know.
Otherwise, please type in prebiotics or probitics in search& look thru' results.
The problem with eating foods that contain this, you don't know if you're getting enough of this bacteria; for example I was told you have to eat at least 100 tubs of yoghurt to get the amout of live bacteria in one capsule of acidophillus.
If you wanted to take a supplement, these ones really deliver results:(see end of article)http://www.whatreallyworks.co.uk/start/a...
sorry couldn't be of more help!
