Does religion interfer with Healing Touch work?

Healing touch is a program that helps people learn to heal them selves through energy work. I am studying to be a practioner and want to know how religion enters into the energy concept. Apparently Jesus was a light worker! So any comments might help thanks.

Energy healing is using your lifeforce (your ch'i, Ki, Mana)

I fail to understand why christians are afraid to use the power of their mind body and soul.

As far as I am concerned some Christians have denied the power of God.
