Answers:

It's difficult to determine what you are referring to because the spelling is inaccurate. The written Navajo language distinguishes between a high-tone "í", a regular "i", a high-tone "á", and a regular "a". It makes a huge difference when one tries to read Navajo because the translation will be completely different.

I don't think the word you gave is the name of the herb, but as I mentioned, it all depends on the pronunciation of the word. Here is one interpretation which is why I don't think it's the actual name of the herb.

his - pus
ííyá - it went away
'ání - he says

hisííyá'ání -- "He said the pus went away"

Knowing what the herb is suppposed to do would help. I have an in-law who is a traditional Navajo herbalist that I could ask.
