What's a good home remedy to soothe an irritated throat?!

Question:

What's a good home remedy to soothe an irritated throat?

I threw up for a few hours this morning, and I barely ate anything yesterday, so this may be too much info, but its relevant...it was all like acid, so it really burned my throat. Don't know what to do. Help please

Answers:

Oh, you poor thing...You were throwing up stomach acid and bile because you had nothing in your stomach. Find bland things that you can at least tolerate just to get something in you, like crackers or toast. If you can't eat anything, sip on water all day. That will at least thin it down a bit. If you start vomiting again, drink water between bouts (keep a glass on the bathroom sink) so you won't get the dry heaves and it will help settle your stomach faster.
Once you can tolerate solid foods, pour 1/4 C warm milk over a piece of toast. Sprinkle with sugar to taste and eat. It may look gross, and taste a bit weird, but I promise it will help.
As far as your sore throat, get a bag of those round spiral peppermints. Don't chew them; use them like cough drops. You can also melt 4-5 of them in a coffee cup of hot water. Don't add anything else, it will be sweet enough and just a little minty. Make it as strong as you want. Just make sure it's cool enough not to hurt your throat when you drink it. This will help your stomach and your throat.

I would avoid any "sore throat" sprays or salt water because it's not an infection that's causing your problem. You need to treat the burn the acid caused, not any bacteria in your throat.

I hope this helps and you feel better soon.
Blessings
