Ambien CR making me spaced out?!

Question: I have been taking Ambien CR perscribed by my doc. But for a few days now, I've been feeling SO spaced out. Yesterday I ran a red light, not even realising it was red till I was right on it. I keep doing dumb stuff without realising it and I feel like I'm FORGETTING EVERYTHING (like yesterday I suddenly couldnt remember where this place was I was driving to even though I've been there lots of times. And I cant remember names lately.) Is this a side effect of the Ambien or am I just stressed out???

You would be wise to discontinue the ambien RIGHT AWAY. If you're still having trouble sleeping over the weekend, try benedryl ( you'll find it in the allergy section at your local drug store). Call your doc on Monday morning to let him/her know what is going on.

Again - please do NOT re-dose. Ambien has had some frighteningly disturbing effects (some lethal, unfortunately), and it sounds like you're headed in that direction.

definetly could be from having it still in your system, there are people that dont remember their entire morning or doing things like driving to work. you should let your doctor know, especially if youre driving around in the morning like a zombie. you could kill someone.

you might be stressed or you could be experiencing the "hangover effect" ... I have had better luck with a shorter-term sleep aid called sonata than I did with ambien ... drink a lot of water (sleep aids tend to dehydrate me and a few friends have had a similar experience - dehydration can cause you to be a bit loopy) and talk to your doctor about other options ...
