I like to be awake and get the most out of life as possible. If I'm sleeping all the time I'm also missing out on time that could have been used to read, watch movies, play games, travel, sight-see, try new foods, experience new things! I like to plan ahead so that I have a goal to look forward to that makes waking up for a job that I don't necessarily enjoy, more worth it...it makes any frustrations or bad days easier to handle if you have your goal in sight!

sleep

You might want to build skills and allow your mind to process the data.

Well to put it lightly, you will sleep enough when your in your grave, so live life to the full, get up take a shower and be thankful you are alive to see a new day

life is too short. get off your *** and live it!!!!!!!!!!!!

Try to do something even if you don't have to. It is good to learn something new everyday. But it is also good to sleep if you feel tired, the body needs plenty of rest.

It depends how tired I am. If I am exhausted I'd sleep long and rest, but if I'm rested I'll be awake and active.

sleep,

if i could do it manually, i would put myself into a coma

Too much sleep will cause you to gain more weight. It's better to try something new and keep yourself fit. Live your life to the fullest.

You are depressed . Get a book on it and read in bed. Good luck.

you cant sleep all day as you'll be wide awake all night. Your metabolism will be slow and you'll feel even sleepier, nauseated and will have no energy. The best you can do is stay awake and find something to do....if you live by the beach go for a walk along the beach and jetty and watch the fishermen or help catch some fish etc.....if your in the country go for a long hike/bush walk or see if you can get some part time work or volunteer in one of the local businesses......or go through your old belongings and have like a yard/garage sale...set up on your little shop.
You need to find something to be passionate about so you can feel better about yourself.
Take care and good luck in finding something interesting to do ;-)

It is better to get out and do something. Sleeping all day, unless you have been seriously sleep deprived, is a signal of illness or depression (also an illness). The problem is that depression feeds on itself and saps energy and so it is hard to get out of bed. If this is you we are talking about, seek help. If it is a friend, get them help.

Now if we are just talking lazing about in bed all day, that is another matter. I'd love to spend all day in bed reading every once in awhile. That can be a welcome respite from a stressful world.

Do something. According to the idea of proportionality, if you sleep an average of 8 hours a day which is 1/3 of 24 hours. This means that 1/3 of your life, you are sleeping. So you need to get up and live life to the fullest. Do new things in life.

Sleeping all day just gets you into the habit, of running away from your problems. Yes it does shorten your day, but all those negative thoughts are still lingering inside. Write out a list of things to do, household chores, cooking, time to get out of bed, breakfast first thing in the morning, go for a walk, read and socialize. Make this a routine it will be hard at first but stick to it until it becomes the norm. From there your life will have a balance and, you'll start to see that life is vast and full of opportunities.

Educate your brain. Its always easier to take the easiest route. In the end you are only taking from yourself. Why not get out there and do what others may or may not do. Find yourself and who you, what you want to do with life. In turn you would be a happier person. OR you could just sleep, BORING!

Man i don't sleep at night or day maybe 4 hrs a week. They say I am BI-Polarand give me about 7 diferent meds I still don't slep just make me dopey. What I'm getting at it would be nice to sleep!

Find things to occupy you. Some suggestions may be found in section 16, at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris Volunteer, even from home, as shown in section 47. Hobbies, games, past times, reading and watching TV, or movies on DVD/video, etc. Get out and about most days. Because excessive sleeping is a symptom of depression, I have included the following: See depression treatments, at ezy-build *(below) in section 2, and consult a doctor, to eliminate thyroid problems, etc. as possible contributing factors: also seek a referral to a therapist using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, or Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy. It is your decision, and yours alone, as to whether to take any antidepressants offered, but, before you do, read section 1, and check medications out at www.drugs.com so you will be on the lookout for side effects, like sexual dysfunction. My strong recommendation, however, is to follow the advice of my doctor, his associate, and also Marcelle Pick, OB/GYN NP, and Dr. Mercola, as well, at http://www.mercola.com and avoid antidepressants (pages 2V, and 2Z refer, & antidepressant websites: page 2). The reasons why we all share the same view on this are explained in full, as you will find, if you read the whole section. All of their advice, (except prayer, because many people are not religious) I have incorporated into the "core treatments", including others as options, such as herbal remedies, Inositol, or SAMe. If you are diagnosed with clinical (major) depression, antidepressants may be necessary for a while, which will give the treatments time to become effective. The antidepressants themselves need at least several days, or even many weeks to become effective. It's a good idea to taper off them slowly, with medical advice, after several months, say, to a couple of years, at most, because they are only effective in the long term for about 30% of people. Because of this, you would be well advised to begin the treatments immediately, and maintain them. I'd just thank your mental health care provider, and pocket the prescription, trying the treatments for a few months, to see if they are sufficient for you, before considering filling it (unless clinically depressed, and having great difficulty functioning, or suicidal, in which case I'd take them). If the amount of daylight you have been exposed to recently has reduced, perhaps due to the change of seasons, see Seasonal Affective Disorder (S.A.D.) in section 2, at * http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris and, instead of taking 4 Omega 3 fish oil supplements, daily; replace 2 of them with cod liver oil supplements (or a teaspoonful of cod liver oil), for the winter months only! Consider having your doctor test your vitamin D levels.

Ooh! Try something new! To me, life is all about collecting new experiences to learn from. It can be something good or something bad - you always learn from each thing that you do.

Granted, we all must do the day to day stuff in order to get the bills paid & whatnot but to try new things is to truly be living.

I honestly hope that you find peace, joy, and satisfaction from all that you experience in your life! : )
