Christmas Blues?!
Question: Me too! My only living relative is a brother who has moved 400 miles away to Sacramento. This is going to be my first xmas without family and it's starting to get rough. If you've gone through it or are going through it now, I' d like to hear from you.

Older people have to face Christmas without family because most of them have passed on. Many are able to do this because they believe they have a relation with God ( Christ is said to be God by most Christians) who is the "reason for the season." Christmas for many others is lonely because they are alienated from their families; Christmas is for Children and a child with out a parent is often left out. Christmas is also all about giving.
My suggestion is to go to a local rescue mission and help them make Christmas meaningful for the many one parent and/or homeless children who are there. They can always use volunteers to pass out gifts or help entertain kids.Just making a child smile or seeing their eagerness and joy when opening a gift dispels and heals any blues one might have.

I know how you feel Steve, my Dad is dead....he passed 3 years ago, I am waiting for it to get better and it hasn't my brother in Austin Tx has ALS he is dying, he is wheelchair bound and I feel totally helpless...my neice who I raised for 3 years married some redneck and now she is MIA....I feel really down, I have 3 boys of my own, and I suffer from OCD and depression....I am trying to find a "bright side" hopefully the clouds will clear soon....I hope that you can get some relief also.....I know its just hard when you have no one to anchor you...I always feel like when will the other shoe drop, when will my life just be a disaster...I worry about the unknown all the time, and that in itself is totally insane, I feel helpless....
