Overcoming my shyness in guys but I need tips!! HELP!!?!
Question: First off, I'm very shy and insecure. But after thinking A LOT about it. I decided what the hell, I'll give it a try. Okay, so there's a shy nerd I want to message on a dating site but I have no idea what to say. Should I just say a casual hi and maybe we should talk sometime? Should I maybe joke or not? He's so smart. Like he's freaking in Med-School smart with a BA in Math!! I should just forget it right? What should I say? Please help!!

First of all don't assume just because he's smart he won't be interested. Maybe he thinks you're super intelligent too. Never make a decision for someone else. Let him decide if he's "too smart" for you. Then if that's how he feels, he'll be the one missing out.
I would start off with something like, Hows it going? Maybe start with bringing up what you admire about him, talk about where he went to college and ask him if he likes sports or maybe ask him what his interests are to determine what you guys have in common.
And you won't know if you ever had a chance unless you try. Me, I met my husband online. I saw his pic and thought he was too hot for me but apparantly he likes big girls. Two years later we're married with an 18 month old son.... LMAO

Do you want to know how to understand mentalities of guys. First of all your motivation is totally correct and that is you are mystically drawn to his personally right. You have not good reason why either. You want to have a chance to get to know him. If you are too casual it is an error. He is casual about nothing. It took focus and determination to get where he is. If you can listen to him it is good. If you can discuss something with him it is better. Just going out to diner is an error.
