Question: i get pretty bad grades in school i can never get motivated, and i feel like i just don't care. my parents get really mad at me, even scream at me when report cards come out, but i don't ever do better. i know i am depressed, and it affects me in school. could this be the reason for my school problems? and should i tell my parents?

Yes. I was the same way in high school. I just didn't care, either and there was barely any motivation unless it was a class I highly enjoyed, like music. Depression affects you in every part of your life. I think you should tell your parents and try to get them to understand, that you are not just a 'slacker', that you have a serious problem with depression and you need help. Hopefully they will take you seriously and support you and help you take the steps you need to get your life back on track.

Yes, it can cause bad grades.

i) You should tell your parents; they can help before it gets too out of hand
ii) That would be the reason why.

I recommend you tell your parents.
Hope for the best.

Lack of motivation and realization can cause bad grades.Determination and confidence is needed to success.

Yes, tell your parents that treatment for depression may help you in school. If they won't listen right away, talk to your school counselor and stress how you feel. Best of luck for you. You can get treatment and you can get better.

Yes, depression can cause several problems and bad grades could be the result of that. You should definitely tell your parents and don't get discouraged if they don't understand at first. Try to be open and honest with them and ask them for their help not their criticism. For God's sake stay away from the drugs too. They certainly will make matters much worse. Find someone to talk to and don't give up on yourself.

yes of course ,and it wont make any difference to you that your parents sceam.your depressed.try talk to your parents ASAP,if you dont find them easy to talk to,have you a teacher? Aunt,Uncle? please talk to someone
be well and believe me you will, take very good care

Yes it can be. You should also tell your parents so that they can give you advises. There's nothing wrong with that. Why are you depress, ask yourself. If you got the solution from being depressed then you can now put your whole attention to your studies.
